Annual Education Symposium
NMM provided an annual all-day symposium for area managers, members, staff, or guests/nonmembers. Local health care experts and/or nationally recognized speakers present timely management and health care information that every practice manager can take back and put to use immediately in their practices. Throughout the day, there are several opportunities to spend time with exhibitors at more than 50 booths.
This year’s event will be held on October 15, 2010 at Embassy Suites Airport Hotel. Our theme is "Past...Present...Future! The Times They Are a-Changin'". Exhibit contracts, information flyer, and registration forms are now available on this website.
Webinars/Audio Conferences
Scheduled periodically and are provided free of charge to members.
Managers: If you find a webinar oraudio conference you feel would be beneficial for NMM managers or their staff, email your suggestion to the NMM Office.
Business Partners: If you have the space for 15-30 people and speaker phone/video equipment and would be willing to either host or sponsor a webinar/audio conference, please call the Central Office.
Volunteerism: If you would like to be of service to NMM and coordinate events such as these, please call the Central Office for more information at (816) 524-6579.
Networking
NMM is small enough to retain a friendly, family feel but large enough to provide quality educational opportunities throughout the year. This group of Northland managers is always willing to lend a hand to help one other. Using the directory (password protected for our members), you are only a phone call away from getting assistant with a problem by talking or emailing with a peer. Using the free member listserv (added automatically upon joining) you can ask questions and get your answers quickly from your peers.
Newsletter Digests
Periodic newsletter digests apprise our membership of important dates or changes in health care policies. Ongoing columns include a president’s message, list of upcoming educational events in the Kansas City area, CMS and MGMA National articles of interest, legislative information, area public health department news, and Northland affiliate information.
The newsletter is sent via email in a full-color PDF linkso information is handled quickly. This communication tool conveys a variety of information that will benefit Managers and Business Partners alike.
NMM Listserv
All new NMM members are automatically added to the active NMM listserv through YahooGroups. This free two-way communication tool gives members a vehicle to ask questions and get answers fast from your peers. Business Partner members are free to chime in as well. The NMM Central Office inputs and moderates these discussions, and sends quarterly rules and etiquette reminders. There is no need to fill out a Yahoo profile as the office inputs your email address. To access, the email is nmmlistserv@yahoogroups.com. Only an active member of NMM is allowed access to this closed group.
Professional Development
Professional Development is key to the success of NMM. Now more than 170 members strong, NMM monthly educational luncheons, audio conferences, and symposiums provide valuable information to members.
NMM also offers assistance and information with scholarship funds that help managers attain advancement through MGMA National’s ACMPE certification program or more educational opportunities in area conferences, seminars, or tuition for advanced learning.
Volunteerism
NMM is successful only through the support and assistance from its members. Please volunteer in some way, whether it be to serve on a committee or just an email suggestion of a topic or speaker idea.
